I had used CookieYes before on WordPress site and knew they were good. The app is quick and easy to install, runs smoothly and gives you peace of mind about compliance. Customer support is very prompt and helpful if you need it.

The incident that affected shopify customers after this plugin turned on regional banners has not been resolved for a month.
My chat function does not work, I have sent emails to support, and I was sent one reply 10 hours ago, and no one has replied since then... I have technical issues, losing sales, and no help???? (Edit: Apparently there was internal chat issues, they reached out and sorted my issues out - Thank you)
After a few months, CookieYes suddenly emailed me claiming I hadn’t paid for my subscription. This is incorrect, because I pay for the app natively through my Shopify account via the monthly invoice. The email stated that I had 23 days to pay before a certain date, but that date was already 23 days in the past. Just a few minutes later, I received another email saying I was too late and that the app had been uninstalled from my webshop. I find this a very strange and unprofessional way to treat customers. As a result, I decided to cancel my subscription (or rather, CookieYes cancelled it for me). I’m now waiting to receive a refund, since I already paid for the full month. In the meantime, I’ve installed Consentmo (2000+ 5‑star reviews), and their support team helped me configure my cookies immediately after installation. That is what I call good service.

With my rather special case the Nick from the staff was really helpful by helping to understand and analyze the issues and to get problems resolved.
Had my issues with other Google CMP approved apps and had rather low expectations. But it was that easy, installing it and it actually worked as designed, respectively all functionalities remained working in my shop. With other apps I had issues that e.g. my cart was deleted. Again amazed on how simple it is with CookieYes!
