Name

Clear: EU AI Act Image Labels

Subtitle

Scan, review, and label AI images in one place.

Introduction

Scan and label AI-generated product images to help with EU AI Act transparency.

Details

Under Article 50 of the EU AI Act, merchants may need to disclose certain AI-generated or AI-modified images. Clear scans your store’s images in Shopify Files for metadata indicating they were generated or modified using generative AI. Review each result or apply manual labels at any time. New and changed images are monitored automatically. Once enabled, Clear adds accessible storefront labels to images marked as AI-generated or AI-modified.
